The College to Career Team of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking qualified individuals for a current opportunity as a Workforce Development Program Specialist! We are looking for someone who has obtained an Associate’s degree in a social science or closely related field. Additionally this candidate must have at least three years of progressively responsible program-related administrative experience in a training/educational setting.
The College to Career Program at Long Beach City College provides in-depth guidance and support to Harbor Regional clients in order to prepare the students for the workforce. Through the program, students will be taught the skills necessary for employment, obtain work experience, and complete an academic program related to their field of interest. We are looking for an impressive Workforce Development Program Specialist to coordinate the employment training and internship placement for this important and unique program. The candidate we are looking for will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to create, develop and foster partnerships with external partners and the ability to identify the strengths our students possess and assist with furthering their strengths. Successful incumbents will also have the ability to manage several student placements, work collaboratively with multiple LBCC departments, and possess knowledge of computer skills. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
Type of positions: Full-time, 12 months, on the College to Career Team.
Salary: Range 32, $4,563.63 to $5,623.85 Monthly.
Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. The selected candidate may request higher salary placement based on additional education, training and/or experience exceeding the minimum requirements.

Eligibility list: Will be valid for 12 months once approved by the Personnel Commission.
